Tick, Tick...BOOM
Moku can next be seen in Manoa Valley Theatre’s production of Tick, Tick…BOOM. With performances on March 11, 18, 19, and 25 matinee shows, as well as the evening of March 17, Moku will be taking the stage as Jonathan Larson. With an intimate cast of three (the talented Bianca Tubolino as Susan and the equally as talented Ian Severino as Michael), as well as a live rock band, don’t miss the chance to rock out to the music of Jonathan Larson.
Before Rent, there was Tick, Tick... Boom!. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent, is the story of an aspiring composer who questions his life choices on the eve of his thirtieth birthday. Jonathan’s best friend wants him to join corporate America, his girlfriend wants him to move with her to Cape Cod, but he doesn’t want to abandon the musical he’s worked on for the past five years.

Moku will be playing the role of Augustus Gloop in Diamond Head Theater’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Showtimes are as follows:

Be More Chill
Moku returns again to the Manoa Valley Theatre stage in the 2021-2022 season opener Be More Chill! In this mixture of Heathers, Dear Evan Hanson, and Little Shop of Horrors, Moku will be playing the role of Michael Mell, the best friend to resident geek Jeremy Heere. With a story about growing up and finding yourself in an increasingly technological world, audiences will enjoy a musical full of heart, humor, and Mountain Dew.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Moku (and live theatre) return after a year of quarantine. Moku will be playing the role of William Barfee, a young man with a speech impediment, a magic foot, and an uncanny ability to spell. Audience members also have the chance to be onstage and be a part of the show as spellers themselves! Come on down as live theatre returns to Hawai’i!

Flowers of Hawai'i
Moku will be playing the dual roles of Norman and Charlie in Lee Cataluna’s Flowers of Hawai’i. Directed by Lurana O’Malley, the show will be presented on Zoom through The Kennedy Theatre. Flowers of Hawai’i tells the story of a multi-generational local family as they battle over love, sex, money, and inheritance. Once

Children of Eden
Moku will be playing the role of a “Storyteller” in the I’m a Bright Kid Foundation production of Stephen Schwarz’s Children of Eden. In the Heights
Moku will be playing the role of “Piraguero”(or “Piragua Guy”) in The Leeward Theatre’s production of Lin Manuel-Miranda’s hit musical In the Heights. For the last two years, The Leeward Theatre has been in a massive renovation and In the Heights will be the first show put on in this newly renovated theater, as well as being the Hawai’i premiere in the community theatre circuit.
